Southern Bread is my attempt at injecting common sense into the discussion in the areas I care deeply about: religious liberty, political freedom, scientific integrity and an honest reading of history.
I’m a follower of Christ, and my denomination is somewhere between Reformed Baptist and PCA. My politics are somewhere between libertarianism and classical liberalism, though anarchism is probably just as apt. I let my science take me wherever the evidence leads. And, I do my research skeptically, with an understanding that the winner always writes the history, so the truth is not always easy to find.
In addition to blogging, I’ve also written two articles for Linux Journal magazine:
- Building an E-mail Virus Detection System for Your Network
- Building and Integrating a Small Office Intranet
We are also a homeschooling family and feel deeply that public education has been completely detrimental to the modern family. It’s my belief that there are many things like this that Christians have come to buy into that if we just stopped and thought through, we would realize have been nothing but bad for us.
As for hobbies, I love a good pipe full of tobacco, gardening/permaculture and gaming. I also enjoy writing software when I have time for it. You can find some of the software I’ve written here on the site. Thanks for stopping by!
